Grantee Perception Report

At the beginning of 2021, we invited our funded partners to participate in a Grantee Perception Report, an anonymous survey conducted by the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP). This was the first time the Center for Prevention fielded this survey, and we are eager to utilize the feedback as a baseline from which to measure continuous improvement going forward.

The survey allows us to better understand the perspectives of our funded partners and compare ourselves to more than 300 philanthropic organizations nationwide. You can view the full survey results here. Highlights include:

  • The Center for Prevention received ratings that are in line with the typical funder, specifically when it comes to how our funded partners believe we understand and impact their organizations. We believe this is due to our focus on building and sustaining trusted relationships with our funded partners.
  • The Center also received strong results related to our responsiveness, our partnerships with funded organizations and our relationships and engagement with the communities we serve.
  • Funded partners believe that the Center is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and combatting racism, and encourage us to deepen that commitment through specific policy priorities.
  • Funded partners also said that it is important for the Center to continue advocating for public policies that improve health. Policy change is an integral part of the Center’s efforts across all areas of focus.
  • Funded partners appreciated our efforts to streamline processes such as contracting and reporting.
  • Opportunities for improvement include ensuring that communications are consistent across all channels and that we are clearer about our strategic priorities.

This input is sincerely appreciated. We continue to strive for transparency and continuous improvement in how we do our work and will incorporate feedback from our funded partners in our annual and long-term strategic planning.
